Richard Patterson
Richard Patterson is a Master Craftsman. He celebrates his medium and never paints or stains, allowing the natural character of the wood to be present. He leaves the small imperfections as homage to the life of the tree. And he honors the wood through his use of natural joinery, using wood dowels and pins to bring the piece together. His design approach is to allow the simplicity of the line to speak for itself. The result is furniture that is sculptural, simple and both timeless and contemporary. He lives in the Los Angeles area with his wife, sculptor JoAnn Patterson.
His furniture is in the collections of Robert Downey, Jr., Alanis Morissette, among others.
