Eric Silva

Eric Silva is a self-taught artisan, born and raised in Los Angeles.  He entered his first major juried exhibition with the Philadelphia Museum of Art "Annual Art and Craft" show in the late 1990's and was selected as "Best in Show" in jewelry design.  Silva has won many awards and recognitions in art and craft shows throughout the US and can be found in the Smithsonian craft collection and is featured in galleries all over the country, as well as Canada and Europe.

Silva is primarily a sculptor, with his early jewelry featuring tiny finely detailed sculptures in fossilized ivory and walrus tusk.  He has since moved into abstract carvings in his art which he minimally embellishes with raw or opaque gemstones.

Silva remains one of the most unique and creative talents in the sculptural art world.  He is a visionary in the truest sense of the word.  His perspective is raw and organic, yet succinctly urban.  He sees no limitations in material, viewpoint or or the definition of beauty. He is an artist who takes us into his world, and changes the way we see ours.
